magic and religion

Hi, I'm a newbie to this magic thing, but I was wondering if magic or Wiccan is considered going against the religious faith, like Christianity, etc.

Wicca is! Magic and/or witchcraft is not!

What Brysing means, is that "Wicca" is it's own religion. "Witchcraft" however, is more of a practice.
It is possible to be a christian witch, or a atheist witch, or anything despite religion/no religion.

Yes, you can be a Christian witch; or any other religion. But a Christian Wiccan is a contradiction.

Interesting... Wiccan is the religious version of magic right? That's why it's against Christianity? What about casting black magic?

I don't think Wicca was ever against Christianity. Just a different belief.
Wicca is, very loosely, based on some of the old traditions of witchcraft. It was formulated as a religion by Gerald Gardner in an attempt to have some form of witchcraft made legal in Britain. He, together with others, succeeded when the practise of witchcraft became legal in 1951.
Wicca is a very new religion; but it is a religion; not strictly witchcraft.

I don't think it would be correct to say that "Wicca is the religious form of magic". Wicca is a religion, that is true. And Wiccans engage in the practice of magic and witchcraft...that is also true. But there are other religions which also engage in the practice of magic.

It also isn't that Wiccans are "against Christianity", it is simply that Wiccans and Christians hold different views on the nature of the Divine, etc. Wiccans are no more against Christianity than Buddhists or Hindus are against Christianity. All are religions with particular beliefs that differ one from the other.
