Yarrow can help bring down high fevers if you drink it as a tea or administering through a bath. It can also speed a blood clot and help heal the cut. Yarrow helps relieve pain, disinfects wounds, promotes tissue repair, and reduces inflammation. Fresh yarrow leaves are best for wound healing by soaking a cloth in yarrow tea and laying it on the wound. Here is a good place that list more for yarrow

Catnip is also similar in effect as yarrow. It can help reduce fever as well and it also helps calm the stomach. the web page i listed above also has catnip in its listings to let you read about :)

Catnip

Catnip is used for trouble sleeping (insomnia); anxiety; migraine and other headaches; cold and other upper respiratory infections; flu; swine flu; fever; hives; worms; and gastrointestinal (GI) upset, including indigestion, colic, cramping, and gas (flatulence). It is also used as a tonic, for increasing urination, and for starting menstrual periods in girls with delayed onset of menstruation.

Some people apply catnip directly to the skin for arthritis, hemorrhoids, and as a compress to relieve swelling.

Some people also smoke catnip medicinally for respiratory conditions and recreationally for a high.

In manufacturing, catnip is used as a pesticide and insecticide.

Yarrow

Legend has it that yarrow (Achillea millefolium ) was named after Achilles, the Greek mythical hero who used it to stop the bleeding wounds of his soldiers. Popular in European folk medicine, yarrow contains flavonoids, plant-based chemicals that increase saliva and stomach acid, helping to improve digestion. Yarrow may also relax smooth muscle in the intestine and uterus, which can relieve stomach and menstrual cramps. Few scientific studies have looked at yarrow as an herbal medicine. Traditionally, it was used for three types of problems

Taken by mouth to reduce inflammation, especially in the digestive tract *
Applied to the skin for wounds and minor bleeding *
To relieve anxiety or insomnia, as a sedative*

Today, yarrow is sometimes suggested for the following uses, although there is a lack of scientific evidence:

Loss of appetite
Indigestion or heartburn
As a diuretic, to increase urine flow
Amenorrhea (irregular menstrual cycle)
Menstrual cramps and pain
Muscle spasms
Inflammation
To fight infection Fever (brings temperature down through sweating)
To reduce bleeding
Wound healing

Yarrow has long been very successfully used in magic and well known among magicians as a magical plant. His main area of magic - love, foresight and exorcism.

Naturally, the people most of this plant was used in the field of love. For example, if a family lacked an understanding of the family broke up, or parents with children did not understand each other, and even worse - endeavor to hate - it was recommended to apply to the colors of reconciliation. For this purpose it was necessary to walk through the cemetery and find an abandoned tomb, which grew wild flowers and herbs that are traditionally good - a daisy, convolvulus, Ivan tea bells, wild peas, clover and pink, of course, yarrow. On this grave need to feed the birds and remember the good man who is out there. It is believed that that was a good man - tells us the nature itself, since it grows good plants. After a few months you can apply to your unknown soul that is now in a different world, and ask her to intercede for your home. Then it is necessary to break a twig or a flower, and strengthen over the door of his house. This should help bring peace to the family. In general, it is believed that milfoil will give young people of strong promoters. It is also believed by wearing an amulet with yarrow, it will protect you from negative energy. You can take and weave the two herbs - nettle and yarrow, taken in hand - and then will be any fear that is known to be important for a mage, and just for humans. And if you drink the infusion of yarrow before you start guessing, it will increase the ability of extrasensory perception. Yarrow is sometimes added to the incense, kindled at the time of the ritual of exorcism. In addition, yarrow, which has always been one of the favorite plants of sorcerers and witches, magic decorate your altar. And it is stated in the Yarrow Chinese Book of Changes. It gives the "original method of Yarrow" - a way of guessing. In addition, the technique used by the "average Yarrow," and "simplified Yarrow" - but to understand this be done only by someone who is professionally engaged in divination.

By the way, there is a version that tarot cards come from the sticks of yarrow.

This is a very strong and powerful magic plant - it is often recommended to put a pillow to protect against spoilage. However it has one caveat - it can not help when the evil has already begun, it acts as a protection and prevention. This is akin to that hair washing decoction of yarrow prevents hair loss, but it is powerless if the person is bald.

In France, witch included yarrow in their magical ointment for the flight, but that he acted, it should say this mantra:

"By yarrow and rue, and my red hat, rush across the sea to England!"

Yarrow is used for aiming, and even damage (and therefore also called the devil and the herb devil's nettle, devil's toy).
