Just the possibility that searching for water was not their real goal does not mean that they were definitely hoping for water. Furthermore, if there was an alien threat of some kind I doubt they would wait several days and let the public know to look at the moon at a specific time before they finally blew it up. Perhaps they just have some numskull who doesn't really know how to search for water in charge of things now(as I said, drilling would probably have been more effective) or perhaps the government needed an excuse to test some new weapon. I think the weapon testing sounds more likely.
This whole thing is just very fishy to me. Why on earth care about water on the moon when we have so many more things the money could go to? It's very shady to me, I don't even know what to think.

Ahh Kikuyo theres also the david icke site to i think there foaming at the mouth about this currently. There searching for water to further expand the human race horizons.
Yes you can say its a cover up and its aliens and goodness knows what else, but also you could actually believe nasa when they say there looking to see if the moon contains water.
Yes i do think blowing a chunk out of it was a little extreme, but i suppose its cheeper then sending a manned mission up there and letting them do the work, when you can get a filthy great bomb to do it for you.
I will be reading with interest, the results they get out of this.
