So, Mercury has been retrograde since the 7th of this month. It is now *finally* going direct.
For those of you new to astrology, the term "retrograde" means that, from Earth, it looks like whichever planet is in retrograde is moving backwards.
Mercury goes into retrograde three times a year (except for this year, where he will be going into retrograde a fourth time, on December 26th. This is said to be unusual.) and is usually retrograde for about three weeks.
During Mercury retrograde, communications go on the fritz. Many astrologers will tell you not to make any major life decisions during a Mercury retrograde. I like to think of it as a time to stop, examine life, and decide if there are any changes *to* be made to begin with.
This has been a particularly rough Mercury retrograde period due to the ongoing Saturn/Uranus opposition and the fact that the Sun, the New Moon, and Mercury all ended up smack-dab in the middle of that opposition at various times during the course of this month. Not fun.
While Saturn and Uranus will still be in opposition during the December 26th-January 15th Mercury retrograde, maybe things will be easier. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Mercury goes direct! Yay!
