Religion, God, Deities

We are not a coven with any strong religous ties or one way of thinking. I personally follow my own way and take from different theories that which I feel applies to me, and I believe Nodrk follows a few different ways as well.

Some people follow different paths, deities, ect. and we are not one to deny the personal relevance of each way.

If you have a path, share it. If you are interesed in one, share that as well and we will inform you about it to the best of our ability, or even get one of the many wise people on this site to share some insight into it.

I personally have called on deities and such from hera, the lady and horded god, diana to jesus when I felt the situation called for it. Choosing to believe or worship them is not necessary. Learning about them though, gives us a better understanding of how we are all tied together.

What are some of the god, or deities, and how do you call to them...or worship them i guess.

There are.....so many I promise I will never cover them all lol.

You have the goddess and god of the wiccan path. There are set rituals written to worship them that you can find literally all over the net. But be advised, if you wish to follow the wiccan path there is some controversy. Some say in order to be a wiccan you must be intitated into a coven. Others say you don't, but can't call yourself one until you have had a year and day of practice.

There are the Greek and Roman god's who exsist to a certian extent, but more so on the astral plane. They are: ( to name a few and in alphabetical order since I am stealing the names from wikipedia to make sure I got them spelled right lol )
Aphrodite, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Dionysus, Hades, Hephaestus, Hera, Hermes, Hestia, Poseidon, and Zeus.
To worship them would be to more or less start off my setting up an alter of their listed favorite things. Because this is considered mythology by some, there are lists and lists of things about them. You would more or less write a sort of summoning spell ackowledging them, offering your worship and asking for guidance and love. It would more or less be doing what you feel right doing.

Now, with the exception of Wicca and Christianity, the multiple gods span through different cultures..but usually the same being just a different name. The Romans use planets to name their god's..yet they are identical to Greek gods.

Are they the same gods or seperate ones? That's up to you to decide. Your experience with which ever God you choose will differ possibly from someone else.

For the Greek/Roman gods, some believe they exsist only on the Astral Plane. That doesn't mean they cannot affect you here, but rather they reside there. If you manage to AP, you can infact meet some there. Though beware because some people create them and they can be false.

It's a weird place up there...but that's a whole nother thread lol.

Basically, with the exception of Wicca and Christianity, the manner in which you worship your deity is up to you. A little research can benifit you for initial contact. But, a warning...the meer thought of Higher Beings is older than all of us. Summoning ANYTHING should be done with nothing but respect, even if you plan to worship, or just ask for help. While they are willing to help for a price ( offering ) disrespect can be a bad bad thing.

wouldn't it be more logical to call upon Hecate the greek goddess of magic

Depends on your views and purpose.

Many people who are doing love spells or beauty spells will call upon Aphrodite or Branwen ( her celtic name )..because that is her known strength. Some who are doing death spells may call upon Hades or Juthrbog ( a slavic name ) since he is ruler of the underworld and associated with death.

You can worship no god, or any god you choose. There is a belief that gods only exsist and have power if you believe and give them that power. At the same time, if you worship one you will be favored by their graces.

It all comes down to what you personally believe and are comfortable with. There is no right way to worship, or right god to worship. It's all about preference.

If you find it logical to worship and call upon Hecate, Isis, the Great Goddess, or whatever other name you wish to use...you are more than welcomed. There is not right or wrong, logical or illogical about it. It's what you personally are comfortable with.

And Hecate was not always looked at as the goddess of magick. Her role as the goddess of both nature and childbirth is what helped her earn the title of the great goddess. Being in tune with the magick of nature and the magick that is being a woman and being able to give life is what helped her earn that title. She is seen as many things now...each one different depending on those who worship and called by many different names.

I always felt an affinity with Isis and it's her name I tend to invoke when I feel the need for some 'divine intervention'. Not always, but sometimes, calling upon her gives me an immediate sense of courage and strength which helps in certain situations.

Any path you choose to be on is up to you.

We do not force one way of thinking here at all. That path is up to each individual to decide for him or herself. Each way deserves it's own respect.
