Can I anoint myself with oil to protect myself before performing a summoning spell?

I think you can, that being said it would probably be easier to just use a prayer: “Dear God, Jesus, St. Mary. St.Michael, St. Raphael, Archangel Raguel, Archangel Chamuel, Archangel Cassiel, Archangel Phanuel, Archangel Sariel, St. Benedict of Nursia, Ishtar, Kali, Sanat Kumara, Archangel Eleleth, Abraxas, The Powers and Authorities, please protect me from any Negative Energy Spirits, Demonic Spirits, and/or Archonic Spirits that would try to infiltrate my ritual summoning and only allow Godly Spirits to enter my ritual space.” This is an example.
