pentagrams

I've never used a pentagram before, was looking at a spell that called for me to put elements in one, not clear on placement though, should the elements be on the points or in the middle? Thanks

It is personal preference. Personally, I put it on the points.

I know I'm getting a little off topic, but being new to this (as in never actually having cast a working spell before), I noticed, a) not all the spells on this site seem to work, would be nice if I knew how to identify the legitimate ones. and b) some of the spells call for belief in order to work. Now, I do believe in magic, it's in the Bible, but if someone could direct me to a failsafe spell, something indisputable, but something that I could be sure would work, it would help be believe in my own ability.

No spell is guaranteed to work. It takes trial and error. It takes time and patience as well as practice. There will be some spells that work & work differently for other practitioners while others may not work. Same thing with practices. There are different practices that work differently for other people.
