My first cast soon.

I have a spell I want to try. It's not a spell that involves any negative energy, desire to harm anyone, etc. I have all the items that are needed to cast said spell. Is there anything else I should be aware of. Can a white magic or neutral spell backfire? Before I cast anything, I'd like to know the ins and outs of what could go wrong. I've read much online, my intentions aren't hostile or negative, nor is my spell. I just wanted to go into this with my eyes as widely opened as possible. Thank you in advance to anyone who responds.

Well, to begin with: do you know the basics? Do you know how to properly cast a spell?

Thank you for your response. I understand what magic can and can't do, when to cast, what reagents work best for certain spells, concentrate and be clear of my intention, believe in magick, myself and what I'm doing.

What I'm unsure on is what type of protection I should use, or if it's needed since the spell I plan to cast is on myself and isn't intended to cause any harm or negativity whatsoever. Although, regardless, it probably is a good idea in any case.

If you or anyone else with experience has further advice or suggestions I would be most grateful.

I noticed you said you wanted to know if there is any protective precautionary measures you should take. The truth is that is totally up to you. I usually cast a circle and sometimes ask my deity to aid in my spell work. I hope this helps.

Blessed Be.
