A friend posted this elsewhere, and I felt it was highly applicable here. The following are the outlined courtesies of Richard Dukante, paraphrased:

1. The Magician who repeatedly contradicts the knowledge of another Magician without first having his facts in order will never excel in his studies. This is because if one is constantly arguing one's own point of view, he is closed to all others.

2. A Powerful Magician will not boast of power or greater knowledge. His magick and his Art will prosper.

3. Ranks amongst Magicians should not be coveted and status should not be competed for.

4. A lesser-ranking Magician should not be intimidated by nor afraid of a Magician of greater rank than himself. The Magician of greater rank is a figure to be learned from and he is an equal to the Magician of lesser rank, not a superior.

5. Likewise, a higher-ranking Magician should not look down upon a Magician of lesser-rank nor pull superiority, for the Magician of lesser-rank is his equal and someone to be learned from.

6. One Magician's 'only right way' of working Magick may not be the right way for another. Each and every person is an individual and must do what works for him.

7. It is only natural that one Magician may excel in one area of magick where another will falter. Everyone has their strong and weak points.

8. We, as Magicians, are each given a gift from the Universe. This gift is the ability to excel in one or more areas of magick. These gifts are an extension of an ability which we were already born with.
