Ive been studying and practicing magic for awhile now (Id say about 5 years though on and off with virtually no reliable sources or guidance since Drake Flame, my mentor of the supernatural,and I got seperated) and perfer Desruction Magic; (in order to defend myself/others from the supernatural evils). But although I can control my energy to harden myself or increase my physical fighng speed, I can never seem to cast a spell! Ill be frank. In terms of aquiredk knowlage and understanding of magic, Id say Im tretty high up in that respect.But not in terms of much practical application. Take a (so-called) simple fireball spell. I may have ripped its incansation from Tales of Vesperia, but the steps/applications are mine (albeit simplistic). I deep brethe a few times to calm my mind. Then I channel the mana from my core (stomach) to my hands. I focus on the attributes of fire (heat/agression/passion/life/light/etc) as I swirl the energy around; forming it into a ball in my hands. I then say the incantation ("O Flickering Blaze Burn") and thrust my hands forward (saying the spells name "Fireball"), shooting the spell outward. Agthough I FEEL the ball pulsing in my hand AND feel its intense heat, I can never seem to bring it completely into the Physical Plane. I cant see it (except in my minds eye; its blue) and it has no effect (seemingly) except wasting mana. Meditating every day may help but ANY advice will be greatly appriciated. Thank you.
