The Succubus and Incubus: Looking Beyond Labels

Incubi and Succubi. What are these beings? Simply put they are spirits that consume the energy produced during intercourse. They are neither good nor evil. They are simply spirits. Some would say that these beings are demons or unholy. This is because the Incubus and more specifically the Succubus are supposedly originated from the biblical Lilith. This however is not very correct. I would implore the reader to look past what Judeo Christian mythology has claimed about these spirits.

When looking into the lore a tad more you might ask yourself why would this be? Lilith was supposedly Adams bitter ex-wife. After a disagreement over who was to be on top or to be beneath Lilith left Adam claiming that she was created for only servitude. Adam prayed to God and asked Him to bring her back. God sent three angels Senoi, Sansenoi and Semangloph, after Lilith. They found her sulking in the Red Sea and Lilith refused to return to servitude and stated that her very nature would cause harm to children. She then promised that she would not harm a child that had the names of the three angels on a talisman that the children would wear. In turn for her not returning a hundred of Liliths children would die each day. Succubi and Incubi are considered the demonic offspring of Lilith.

Given all this you might wonder what does any of that have to do with the origins of Succubi. Well not much to be honest. The name Succubi translates down to one who lies under which might derive from the old Jewish myth of Lilith. But really these beings were seen as evil in the Middle Ages because they were seen to prey on men and make them weak and un-virtuous. It also caused them to have wet dreams, which were considered a waste and not pure. This attributed to the evil nature of the Succubus.

What I want you to do now is look past the labels. See this being as they simply are. Spirits. They are simply spiritual entities that thrive off of sexual energy. They have no gender. They are not Succubi or Incubi. These are titles. They really are just spirits so they dont really have a gender or sex. They prey on men and women alike. The feed off of desires, emotion, and sexual energy. The gender of that prey doesnt matter. Some split the beings into categories but really they are incorporeal spirits. They can be any sex/gender as they please. They are spirits and they feed off of our spirit.

It is rather simplistic when you look at it like this. Spirits feeding off the energy of other spirits. Forget what Judeo-Christian mythology has taught you. See them only as spirits and avoid the labels. The label system and Judeo-Christian teachings is what confused me and drove me to sharing this information with you. Be careful and think logically. Working with these spirits is not something I suggest for a beginner.

Because of these falsities the views of the Incubi and Succubi have been warped so that they appear as evil entities. This really is not true. They are not all inheritably evil. They are all unique and individuals. Some people even enjoy sexual contact with one of these spirits. It feels nice for them. I understand this is a mature topic. I will not go into detail, but in short, they like it. In fact 90% of the time the actual act is mutually beneficial.

When the spirit contacts the person it will make an offer of sorts. Getting to know the person and become closer. They will start to work with each other and then it will become intimate. The energy of the spirits doing the act is sort of generated in the air like static. It is a byproduct. Once the byproduct is made and both are satisfied the spirit takes in that energy. It is not a person's life force or anything like that. It is just energy made during intercourse.

There are even references to shamans doing this sort of practice. They enter a trance and go into an altered state of mind where they can then contact the spirit. The spirit becomes intimate with them and they might have intercourse. There are some accounts of the spirit and the shaman being life long partners. Both the spirit and the shaman benefit from the energy produced from the relationship. Some shamans say that their ability to spiritual heal others comes from the energy they obtain through these acts.

I have noticed of late, people trying to summon these spirits. Summoning in my opinion is a bit rude to some degree. When calling forth a spirit do not try to bend it to your will and force it into manifestation. Simply call it to you. Ask for the spirit to be with you. If one shows up then great, but if a spirit does not want to be with you then do not force it.

Remember though that these spirits enjoy lust and emotion. Those who are sensitive would best stay away. Dont attempt to summon one to you if you are not experienced in spirit work. They may not be evil but they can cause harm. Be careful and have manners when dealing with spirits.
