I'm making a wand out of magnolia wood. Thing is, I don't really have any good correspondences for it and I'm trying to figure those out for later use, I was hoping someone could help me bat around ideas.

What I have so far is that it might be good for low-key wards and support kinds of spells. That steel magnolias thing with hidden strength.

The flowers also get just cloyingly sweet if there are several trees in one area. Like, seriously gagging sweet, I almost associate that with dead people for some reason. That's more the flowers than the wood itself though.

That's where I run out of ideas.
