Plans for the blue moon?

Hello everyone!

So apparently tomorrow is a special day, we have Samhain AND the full moon happening on the same day! Apparently this only happens every 19 years. I don’t know what that means magically though, what do you guys have planned? What kind of rituals is best for this event? I would love to do something with a few herbs, candles and oils I have lying around(I know you don’t NEED tools but I love working with them anyway), but I can’t decide on what to do and I’m excited. Any ideas?

I've recently found a bagful of runes and a booklet at the local thrift shop. They were 2$ Usd, but today was a 50% Off Sale so I bought them for a dollar. I used them via a one question method. My answer was in direct relation to the question posed, oddly.

So today began my Samhain celebrations with divination work. I tend to begin my Samhain celebrations early as I'm very fond of celebrating Mabon, so often for me these two holidays collide.

Mabon celebration for me this year consisted of harvesting herbs locally for tea, mugwort and rosehips.

Today I also picked up some chocolate, something I do every year at this time.

Tomorrow's plans are a simple incense offering to ancestors. I found a pack of sandalwood incense at the thrift shop as well for 50 cents.

And that will be it for me. I have a tarot deck but I tend not to read the cards for the sake of it. Only when I feel called to read.

There are many things you can do tomorrow on a full moon. This time of year is great for divination. You could also work on protection charms, or amulets if you have not kept up with protection work.

You could write up a ritual or spell for the ocassion. Blessing items and or tools at this time is wonderful, as well as clearing space.

Carving of pumpkins at this time is a tradition you could altar for spell work, etc.

And for the full moon specifically items you'd like charged with moonlight are great to prepare to set out in moonlight.

You may also like to look into information on what the blue moon symbolizes if you haven't.

These are a few things you could do.

Enjoy your holiday!

For me, Samhain is a time to remember the Ancestors and my Blessed Dead. So tonight I will be setting up an Ancestor altar in their memory and likely doing a meditation to connect with their spirits.

Samhain is also a great time for divination so that will probably be included in my rituals.

Work and other changes canceled my all-night bonfire plans, but I still intend to have a small fire some time this evening. It's not so much dedicated to Samhain or to Halloween, but also because the weather is perfect for it (it's nice and chilly, finally!), the burn ban ends at midnight (yes, it's a night early, but I think they can make an exception lol), and a full moon near Mars in aries (Jupter and Saturn are still relatively close to each other, too, visible on the other end of the night sky from the moon at this point -- I believe Pluto is between them, just too dim to be visible with the naked eye). So hopefully the clouds also clear out enough to see them!
