If I can recommend another deity, it would be Vishnu. Especially his Fish and Tortoise forms

Like the moon phases, the tides are the time scope in sea magic, the phase of the tide corresponding with the spell or ritual being done.

Flow :

The phase of water coming in.

  • Growth
  • Bringing things to you
  • Luck
  • Setting new intentions
  • Creativity
  • New beginnings
  • Productive & Positive spells

This tide phase is best paired with the new moon, and doubles its energy during sunrise.

High Tide :

When water reaches its highest level. This tide phase happens approx. 2X a day - every 12 hours. Best time for productive magic.

  • All types of magic and spells
  • Any spells requiring extra boost
  • Mer-folk and fae workings
  • Any ritual or working
  • Charging

This tide phase is best associated to the Full Moon and Noon

Ebb/Reflux:

This phase is when the water is receding.

  • Curses, hexes, jinxing, etc.
  • Banishing/releasing
  • Baneful and destructive magic

This tide phase is best paired with the New/Dark Moon, waning or eclipse and sunset.

Low Tide :

This phase is when the water reaches its lowest level, and is far from the land.

  • Introspective work and meditation
  • Reflection
  • Divination and psychic work
  • New ideas/beginnings

This phase is associated with the waning moon.

Neap Tide:

Occurs 2X a month, during the 1st and 3rd moon quarters.

  • Love magic of all kind
  • Binding
  • Protection - especially sailors/people who work at sea
  • Relationships
  • Healing

Spring Tide:

Also 2X a month, New and Full Moon.

  • Extra boost to spells
  • Gathering/Foraging - especially the day after
  • Charging items/tools
  • Weather magic

The 9th Wave:

Waves occur in trains, which means threes. The last wave in the train is said to be the most powerful.

  • When performing by the sea, build the energy with the first wave. As the 9th wave comes in, either throw your spell into it (safely!) or charge your spell or items in the wave as it comes in.
  • This can also be used to purify and cleanse yourself prior to rituals or to release any unwanted energies.
  • Can also use the first to the ninth wave to clear, open and balance chakra's.
