this is most likely a stupid question however when writing runes spells or symbols of any kind is there any type of inks that would help with Magick?

That really depends on your tradition, some traditions work with dragon's blood ink, dove's blood ink, squid ink, etc. It really depends on your path and tradition. But these inks are certainly not a requirement when writing for magickal practice.

In my opinion, yes. You could use any pen.

With any spell or ritual, it really comes down to the intent and the concentration/effort you are putting into it. Some spells call for a variety of ingredients or items but that is not to say you can't substitute or create your own spell with the items you feel represent what it is you are trying to accomplish. With the ink, some people feel more of a connection to creating things by using Dragons Blood ink, but if you use a regular pen and your intentions are just as strong, it really won't matter. If anything you could go to the store and select a specific pen that you like and use that only for creating your runes or spells. Then you will have that connection to it but in the long run, no, a regular pen will work just fine.

Something to perhaps consider: So-called dragon's blood ink might (possibly) have some ingredient from the incense, but a lot of the inks with names like these are more about the colors.I think that may be more of the focus. If the color of an ink is important to you in the crafting of a spell, or in recording information in a journal, for example, it would be much more accessible to find a multicolored set of pens in an office supply store or section of a department store. A set of at least a dozen could cost less than a fancy 'magic' quill (plain feather stuck in the package; there's more to a quill than that) set with a bottle of 'special' ink.
