Thoth deck :)

I have just received my new Thoth tarot deck today from my husband, yay! My first one I had about 20 years ago, so I am super rusty with this particular deck. I am ordering the companion book "Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot" by Lon Milo Duquette and the book for the deck by Akron, Hajo Banzhal, Aleister Crowley, Frieda Harris, and Christine M. Grimm called "Crowley Tarot: Handbook to the Cards".

My questions are:
1-do any of you have any pointers for bonding (if that makes sense) with this particular type of deck?
2- any other books or good resources that you could link me to or give me the name and author of?
3- Do you have any tips for using the deck otherwise?

I won't receive the books for a week or so, so I thought I would ask for any information that I could from those who have used the deck or know about the deck :)

Thank you ahead of time :D

1) A good way of bonding is to sleep with you deck close to you or under your pillow. You can also blow into the cards, and meditate with them.

2.) I don't know any good resources for books unfortunately, but your intuition on connecting with the cards is a good thing to practice with. What do you think the card means? What is it telling you ?

3.) When I do my readings, I listen to my deck. I listen for the number of shuffles and the number of cards. For example it could be 1 shuffle, 5 cards, or 3 shuffles, 7 cards.

Good luck! :)

Well, Crowley's "The Book of Thoth" is the book which was meant to accompany the deck, I would highly recommend that above any other. As a second option, I recommend Snuffin's book on the deck (I forget the exact title).

The Book of Thoth can be found on google for free. The latter is inexpensive.
