I'm new - just signed up today. I've always been interested in wiccan and white magic, but I'm a bit skeptical whether or not any of this actually works.
I'd like to try a few things though and understand it a bit more.
It is real. But no, magick is NOTHING (sorry for using caps, just trying to get a point across) like what is portrayed in shows like Charmed and Harry Potter. You must want to learn and understand that magick has limitations, because in the real world there is such thing as the laws of nature and physics, thus why one cannot pic up a broom and fly. Also, you will hear a lot of this on this site, but despite how much someone tries to convince you otherwise, there is absolutely no such thing as vampires, werewolves, or anything of the like that isn't human. Magick cannot change physical DNA in any way shape or form. Also, before you try to attempt any magick, it is essential to learn and master the basics to have even some chance of success, which aren't that basic, in spite of their name. So, I hope that starts you off in clearing some of the beginning fuzz.
Also, you don't have to be Wiccan to be a witch or practice magick. (Note that a 'witch' is a label and self-proclaimed title, but you cannot become one through a spell, as I have encountered many that have believed that to be so).
You don't state your age,but you seem to be too young to be taught Wicca, because it is a religion, and would be against the law to teach anyone under the age of 18.The first thing to learn about magic is to "think",deeply, in meditation. When you can control the meditation, the other basics become easier to learn. But it all takes time! Don't rush it! Learn to meditate, and everything else will fall into place.
That would be so unfair if it were against to law to teach Wicca to children, because so many other religions are given free reign to indoctrinate people of the same age (some in ways that keep certain individuals traumatised as adults, even!)
I'd understand if the site management didn't want to get into trouble for giving information to someone who was under 13, though.
Laura, skepticism is healthy, although as for whether magic works I must say that magic isn't a technology and might fall short of modern standards of effectiveness. Fortunately, we mostly have actual technology to make up for that. :)
Hello. I can relate with you quite well in terms of being skeptical. My best advice to you? Try working with a pendulum. Keep your elbow supported on a flat surface, tighten your arm so that it does not accidentally move and see if the pendulum responds by swinging.
This is what happened to me. I truly believe in Magick now, because what I experienced with the pendulum cannot be explained otherwise. :)
hey flubs it does work it you want to be a powerful witch you have to put a lot of time in your magic all of the spells on spell of magic work you have work hard at your spells make sure you look at the spell to work on it more like some spell need to be on a full moon
