I'd be interested in seeing how many different types of Heathens we have here. I would be appreciative if you could briefly state what branch(es) of Heathenry you consider yourself to fall under, and which deities interest you the most. I would like to know this so that when I write articles I can include the variety of paths here and appeal better to the audience. I think it would help the Heathens here, and those interested in Norse deities, to connect and learn from each other.
I personally consider myself a Rokkatruar and a Lokean. I have some eclectic tendencies and work with just a view deities outside of this box. Loki, Fenrir, Nidhoggr, Hel, Mimir and Utgard-Loki are the focus on my practice. I've worked with Ran, Vidar, Freyja and Kvasir in the past. I have interests in the Aztec pantheon.
I mainly just stick to the title of heathen. But if I had to break it down I'd say I am an Asatruar mainly but I occasionally go beyond that title. I consider myself a modernist heathen, I value tradition but I do not play viking or keep my head in the history books. I make things work for me, in the now.
Dieities that interest me the most are Loki, Thor and Baldr. The gods I work with the most are Thor, Odin, Idunn, Freyr, and Bragi. But I go to each god for aid and honor where I see fit.
i guess i'd fall under odinist, since i generally work with odin. I'm interested in reading about mimir and kvasir, also work with fylgja. But of course i'm interested in anything you're willing to write =)
I personally would consider myself a eclectic Lokean and Rokkatruar. I mainly work with Loki because my relationship with him is still new and I am still in the process of building a strong relationship with him. I have also worked with Hel a few times and tired my best to connect with Fenrir, however my connections with him have been very short lived, after all he is not the most welcoming of Gods. I am still learning about Nidhoggr but have not made a connection yet. I would like to connect more to sleipnir and learn more about him as well, though the information on Sleipnir is very little or so I have found.
I tend to be more of a traditionalist and a Rokkatruar/Lokean. I mainly work with Loki and Hela. But I've worked with some others like the Nornir, Sigyn. Farbauti. Even though I mostly work with the Rokkr, I don't mind expanding my deity relationships.
I'm completely new with Norse Paganism, but I'm leaning toward Loki. Today was the frist time I made wisper of his name while meditating. I was raised very differantly, so it's all uncharted waters. I'll read whatever you write.
I'm so curious to see all the Loki-followers here. In the Jotunbok, Raven K pointed out that it seems like there's this big influx of Loki-followers showing up who follow Loki and get introduced into Heathenry that way- which is opposite of how it normally goes. Normally people decide they are interested in Heathenry, then they pick a deity or pantheon and head in that direction. I find it really interesting to see how many people get involved with Loki, then decide to search for Heathenry after that. It's just something the Heathen community has never seen with another deity before. Hm!
