I agree with everyone. It is best to write your own spells, and even if you don't know how to, you can search it up.
SoM is a site where anyone can post spells. Some spells will be fluff work and won't be any good, even the 5 star ones. This is especially in the Fantasy and Trick sections. It is, in my opinion, impossible to grow a tail and turn into a mermaid, so I don't think anyone needs to waste their time trying that out.
But some spells are genuine, if stuck on anything people here are always happy to help.
I would like to add that sometimes new people turn to the craft thinking it will be a quick fix to a major problem. If you have no experience, have never been taught even the basics and/or have no desire to learn but want instant gratification then none of these spells or even spells you create yourself will ever work for you. You need a basic understanding and some practice before you can even begin spellwork.
Many understand ranks so let me put it simply that remedial, novice and beginners should not even attempt spellwork. Spellwork should be reserved for intermediate, advanced, master, expert, ect practitioners. Or at least beginners should be supervised by someone at a higher level.
This isn't to discourage you, but hopefully will enlighten you to do some more research. I would be happy to help anyone who has a genuine interest in the Craft.
Very wise words...I believe you should always write your own spells. Yes look at some to get ideas on how one should be worked, but magick takes much practice, discipline and research... not to mention the pure thoughts, emotions, needs or wishes that can only come from you. Thanks for the post, LunarGoddess, it is my hope that all us newbies (to this site, or whatever path they have begun) will read this post as well as your others and take your words to heart. Magick is not for the faint of heart, weak-willed, or the lazy. Good luck to all who have chosen this new path! Love to all, Blessed Be!
I believe it would be a good idea to look up a chrat of the things you want to use; herbs, moon phases, candle color, ect.

Writing your own spells? As in making a spell with your own ingrediants as well as verbals (chants?)
I always thought much of the things in a spell are symbolic and they where used to help you consintrated on the outcome or where a catalist to help you channel the energy better. Correct me if I am wrong on such things

Yes, Redking. But the ingredients still have to relate to the type of spell you are planning.
