is this a grimoire you were working with before, or do you feel you have been guided to it?

I think those results are amazing. Congrats!

It's an actual grimoire that I own. I bought it for the information regarding the magical squares within it and discarded it until this started popping up.

I find it interesting too that they would not call themselves demons. could they mean in the sense of what the connotations of what are currently called demons? it is just a name.

the angel Jazar is called a djinn in some grimoires but in others an angel. that sort of thing.

nevertheless, those are really interesting results.

I was kind of skeptical as to what the spirit or demon was telling you as well and the fact that it specificaly disregarded a particular book you use, and then asked you to summon it. How do you know it isnt lying? Anyway, great post.

Actually it isn't a book that I practice with but it's interesting that these beings have similar or dead on names that are within that book. I'm not afraid to evoke any spirit, I have been practicing evocation for a long time now and most likely he has something he would like to share with me that can only be obtained through the process of evocation.

Spirits are like people, everyone has a tendency to lie.

What is your method or purpose for evokeing them and then what happens after they share their knowledge. Do they go on their way into the world or what?and what is the difference between evoke and invoke?

They for the most part mean the same thing. Personally I think evoking refers calling forth a spirit in be-holdable appearance while invoking means calling a spirit within yourself. At least for the most part most grimoires refer to these words in the same context that I do.

Yes, the purpose of evoking a spirit is to gain valuable insight on your path and into topics that they hold office over. You can leave it to this or issue the spirit tasks that you require to be taken care of such as procuring the love of someone, removing an enemy, or even matters of finance. There are many matters that spirits can hold office over and help you with.

My method of evocation deals with deep meditation on the Divine Architect. Once I invoke this energy, I hold it within myself until I reach the rapture state of my meditation. This can be in comparison to Kundalini. I then seal this energy within my ritual space and within all of my ritual tools. Afterwards at the point of exhaustion I say my conjuration and call the entity forth within the triangle of manifestation. Being in this state of exhaustion the mental images I get of the spirit begin to manifest within the incense smoke before me.

Afterwards I either ask the questions I had wanted answered by the spirit or I issue the entity with a task. For the most part I have found that spirits whether they are Daemons, Angels, Elementals, Godforms, or Olympian spirits they are more then happy to help you. They may ask for offerings but it's nothing like one would assume. Usually a good drink such as rum or wine will suffice or they might enjoy a specific kind of incense.

I've only had a few instances with spirits who didn't want to leave. This is when I use banishings to get rid of them. There are many books out there on this topic but If your interested in this aspect of magick I suggest working on meditation, visualization, opening your 3rd eye, developing your psychic hearing, and scrying. Once you have completely developed this, then you can apply it to a system that deals with evocation.
