Skepticism of the Occult
By: / Beginner
Ok, so I'm a new witch, reading, and researching trying to learn as much as I can. I'm pretty skeptical as a person, and it's hard for me to find real reason to fully put my faith into witchcraft. I was reading some forums, on a satanic website, and somebody said something that made me think.
''Anyway I'm trying to explain that these things are all linked, alien abduction, entities, paranormal experiences, it's all linked to DMT release and altered states so in effect we actually see and feel ****ed up thoughtforms when the pineal gland is doing it's thing. I've had a few results in the past.''
Do you guys think this guy is full of it? Or Is he telling the truth?

i say look inside yourself does what your being told make sense to you. or would you be following blindly without research and experimentation I triple check everything for validity and that is where i stand i would cross reference with several individuals and get their points of views and then form your own thoughts based on what you found

Then expand onto that. for instance Magick is essentially everywhere because magick is energy everything has energy be it a thoughtform, entity, alien, whatever you find but use logic and common sense if something doesn't seem to make sense then ask other people their opinions you will find out quick who are the real serious practioners and the fluffy ones.
In my opinion the real practioners are the ones where everything can be explained in a logical manner but its to make sense there are things that do not require logic though such as a spirit or ghost or the fact that there is an astral plane because it is just there science has proven astral projection is quite real .

thanks for your point of view. and if you could find a scientific document on the astral plane it would be very much appreciated! :)

DMT can have the effect of making people feel see etc altered forms of reality the question is... is that it? I tend to think not, especially when there is evidence abound of cameras catching spirits in "invisible" spectrums of light. Its hard for me to believe a camera can be effected by DMT.

I tend to approach things skeptically as well, if only to try to debunk things that can be explained through everyday factors and otherwise better understand the world around me.

The scientific method is, after all, a great way to explore just about anything.

In terms of the astral plane, it is worth considering the string theory, or other such theoretical physics that explore the possibility of there existing other dimensions or planes of existence.

DMT release and other altered states certainly have something to do with the nature of magic and the occult, but much of it also comes of the way we perceive the world. The cosmos are not limited to sound and rays of light, and these are our primary tools of observation. I believe much of what we view or understand with such psychic capabilities, or similar such methods that are born of occult and magical practice are merely the mind processing that which it cannot other form a vision or sound for, and trying to provide something that we can understand.

In terms of working spells and so forth, much of this stems from the concept of exerting one's will and energy. The primary results are achieved by impacting the subconscious of others. Pheromones, vibrations, etc. and other phenomena not fully explained are likely all factors. As for effecting the physical through magical practice, the results are more up in the air. I have seen people claim stuff and rapidly debunked it. On the other hand, I have seen things I can simply not explain.

I don't feel that the spiritual should be mixed with aliens...Aliens are just the belief that there is life other than our planet in a gigantic universe. And I'd have to agree that we cannot possibly be the only planet with life. However as for little green men and abductions, I would blame that on paranoia and delusions. "Spacecrafts" seen were probably government planes, there are quite a lot of them that can hover soundless, and move very quickly. If you look into military aircrafts, its actually pretty awesome what they have invented and had for quite some time. They're stealth aircrafts meant for reconnaissance. Don't give into the conspiracy theories. Some people have a great talent for making a mountain out of a mole hill. If there was more technologically advanced life forms out there, I doubt they would be wasting their time spying us with extremely obvious ships and drawing pictures in our fields (crop circles). Silly in my opinion.

As for the spiritual or "paranormal" if it were just some biological or psychological condition then why would people from across the globe since the beginning of civilization all come to the exact same conclusion--the belief of a spiritual world/plane/dimension, what have you.

Our brains are limited to what we see and perceive. I can put a dot on the wall and you may never ever notice it until I point it out. After I point it out, your eyes will be drawn to it everytime you walk into the room. When you enter into spiritual thinking, that dot is pointed out to you. And once you accept that the dot exists (spirits and spiritual energy), you will forever be aware of its existence. The longer you know it is there, the easier it becomes for you to recognize it. You'll begin looking for more dots sooner or later, and your knowledge and awareness widens.

Spirits and energy are beyond science. But science doesn't know everything. If they did, there would be no need of continuing to discover new things. Everything would have an answer. Just because "magic" itself can not be grasped by science doesn't mean that scientific discoveries do not support it in many ways. Science cannot disprove us, they can merely say they have yet to find evidence. One hundred years ago, they had no evidence of a lot of things that they do now. Science continues to evolve, the truths of years past are no longer the truths of today, and the truths of today will change years down the line.

I fear the day science finds evidence of the spiritual. I hope I don't live to see it. They are destroying the earth with what they already know. They would end up destroying the very last thing we have that is still pure. Some things are better left unknown.

No one should enter something from a skeptical viewpoint. They should observe it with an open mind. Open does not mean gullible, an open mind is one that takes in all it can, then weeds out what makes sense and what doesn't. I believe only in what I see, experience and what makes sense to me. But I've seen quite a lot, alone and with others. So I am very sure of my choices.

No one should ever have to force faith. It is either there or it is not. If it isn't there, than perhaps it isn't the right time to accept any faith. Most people believe in the craft due to what they have experienced already. So they need no proof. You may need to wait for that experience to come into your life before deciding your path.

@ whiteraven i totally agree you think exactly like me. it was just on my points with the aliens to do research and then make your own conclusions about it to accept or deny. just for clarification
