Energy work, meaning gathering, grounding, shielding, chakra work and centering. All apart of the basics you must learn, I will provide you with a short description of each and a technique you can use to perform each.
Gathering- The process of willing energy to come to you. To do this (this requires another basic) you meditate. You can meditate for 10-15 minutes feeling the energies around you, surrounding you with them.
Grounding- Getting rid of that excess energy you may have. To do this, go outside, preferably on soil, and imagine roots coming out of the soil, imagine those roots getting rid of the excess energy. This helps your body become more balanced and you are giving back to the Earth, which is also vital.
Shielding- The act of putting a shield around your body to block out both negative and positive energies because both can make your body unbalanced. To do this, you should go outside (you may use your own energy to make a shield around you or you may use energy from the Earth) for beginners, I suggest you use the energy from the Earth. Using your energy or energy from the Earth, imagine energy forming a bubble around you. The color of the bubble can be any color, but I suggest white. When this bubble is formed, you may keep adding energy to it to make it stronger (this will weaken you if you are using your own energy) or you may stop as soon as it is formed, knowing that it is there to shield you from the many energies that would make your body unbalanced.
Chakra Work- Working with your chakras, the seven focal points of which energy is released, to achieve relaxation or peace. You will need to understand meditation, and the chakras itself to be able to work with them. The seven Chakras are the Crown Chakra at the top of the head, the Brow Chakra or the Third Eye in the center of the forehead, the Throat Chakra, the Heart Chakra, the Solar Plexus Chakra located below the ribs, the Sacral Chakra situated in the lower abdomen, and the Base or Root Chakra located at the base of the spine. Many work with the chakras from the bottom up (Root to Crown Chakra). There are many meditation techniques to open your chakras up (which you will have to do first), then you must make sure that they are not unbalanced and/or clogged and once again, there are many meditation techniques to unclog/balance your chakras.
