Skadi is the Norse Goddess of winter, and the hunt, and is spoken of in the Norse sagas as being a jotunn, or spirit or goddess of nature. This wonderful statue embraces Skadi the huntress, portraying her as a woman of winter, clad in a sweeping fur cloak and high boots as she hunts with a bow and a wolf by her side. Girded in leathers for the hunt, with a quiver of arrows slung over her shoulder, she holds aloft a flame in her free hand, while the arrow she keeps knocked at her bow burns at its tip
