If you are feeling anxious, or are struggling to relax enough to sleep, this meditation may help. I use it almost every night.
Casting Instructions for 'Peace Meditation'
You will need the following items for this spell:
1 deep blue candle
1 tea ball
Lavender buds
Jasmine flowers
A private space
A clean table/desk/altar

This meditation can be performed at any time of day, but I recommend doing it just before bed, so that you can sleep and wake up refreshed (lavender and jasmine both have sleep-inducing properties).
Place about one tablespoon of lavender buds into the tea ball, and slightly more than a tablespoon of jasmine flowers. Prepare a cup of tea with water at just below 205F degrees, and let it steep for seven minutes. Remove the tea ball.
Go to your private space and place your cup of tea on the table. Light the blue candle.
Watch the flame, and focus on what catches your eye. What colors are in the flame? How is the wax melting? Breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Let your shoulders relax; let your posture open. When you feel sufficiently relaxed, close your eyes.
Repeat the following with your eyes closed: ''I am a child of the Universe, and I am strong. I am beautiful. I am worthy.'' Repeat it until the words start to lose their meaning, and then open your eyes. Focus on the flame again.
When it feels right, close your eyes, and reflect on three moments you were grateful for during the day. Think about those things, and visualize those positive sensations of gratitude welling up and filling your body with a soft blue light.
Reflect on three things you were proud of yourself for. Don't let any doubts you may have convince you that you did nothing of value--don't stop until you have come up with three things. Imagine the rush of pride filling you with golden light, rushing through your entire body.
Finally, reflect on three moments you felt happiness during the day. Visualize these events, and feel the positive energy filling you with white light. Enjoy the feelings of all the lightness inside of you, and all the positive energy.
Open your eyes. Drink your tea in the candlelight, and give thanks to your patron/matron/guardian spirit/the Universe for the day. Then extinguish the flame.
