Place to buy Gemstones

Hello,

I was wondering what would be a good place where I am not spending a lot of money on gemstones; quartz, onyx, obsidian etc. As I use gemstones when I can get a hold of them in my workings.

If you buy tumbled stones instead of crystals, they are cheaper and just as effective.

I like to go to gem shows when they are in the area. I find that you can find things there that are much cheaper than the stores.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem you are, I can't find any around here and shipping is so expensive.

Another option is to do a google maps search. plug in your home address, then select the search nearby option and put in a keyword or two. like crystals, or metaphysical. And see what comes up.

I always suggest buying from local shows, but there are many great sites online where you can buy cheap and good-qaulity gemstones. I've heard many positive things about fire mountain gemstones, yet I've never tried shopping from them myself. My favorite way of collecting gemstones is rockhounding and finding them myself, while I understand many people don't have the equipment nor the time.

I buy stones in Asia, more precisely in Cambodia or Myanmar, real and serious stones. If it concerns quartz, then it is everywhere a lot.
