The Best Scones

These scones are light and fluffy, and will melt your mouth.

First: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour,
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt,
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar,
  • 1/4 cup softened butter,
  • 1/4 cup of milk,
  • 1 beaten egg,

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl but cut in the butter.

On a floured board, roll out to 1-inch thick circle, transfer to baking sheet. Cut with a long knife to make 6 or 8 wedges but don't separate. Bake for 25 minutes. Makes 6 or 8 scones; serve two because you can't stop eating them! :)

Serve with clotted cream ( devon cream in specialty foods store) and jam, or almost whipped cream and jam, or this near-clotted ream:

In a blender, whip together:

  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

Enjoy! :)

Blessed Be.

This is a pretty interesting Japanese perspective on breakfast ranging from traditional to modern. It isn't cooking heavy but I figured my fellow foodies would enjoy it anyways since it still displays lots of yum yums. It shows a farmer lady who picks and cooks her own food. That was my favorite part.

Potato was actually my birth formula as a baby. I remember getting my first potato wedge sample as a child from a Fry's deli with my mother. To this day I still absolutely love potatoes prepared just about any way. All of the recipes below are great for kitchen witchery with their use of herbs and oils.
