Could any more experienced people tell me what a Galdrastafir is? As long as I know, they are extremely powerful runes that should not be used just in any case.

I have some runes but I really struggle to do any readings with them. Any tips would be great.

Some Tips that I always give people:

- Make sure you feel connected to your runes, whether wood, crystal, stone or glass.

- Spend time connecting with your runes, I like to keep mine under my pillow for a few nights.

- Do a daily, single rune draw, these single rune draws can help you interperate each rune individualy and can help you bond with them.

- Find the best way to cast for you; some people infuse their intent with the runes while they are in a bag, some people put them in alphabetical order before they add intent, some people ask the quesiton verbally, others do it in their head, it is all personal.

- Practice on both yourself and others, that way you can attempt to piece together the meanings for a question by someone else, leaves out bias you may have for your own questions.

- Don't read each rune solely as individuals, runes (much like tarot) are not just individual meanings, they also relate to those runes drawn on either side of them as well as the whole casting.

I have so much I want to add to this. I just need time to properly collect my thoughts. They might be added in segments, they might not. Personally I don't use runes for divination as I use them more for Galdrar (intoned spells, essentially). I'd love to talk about their application in Galdralag (spell-verse poetry).

^ My favorite source for the Rune Poems. Everything beyond the rune poems are interpretation and people often forget that, so I really only suggest using modern books as a template to help build your own understandings on, rather than taking them as your only source at face value (really, that's true for anything; especially aspects of Heathenry).

Welp, it looks like my reponses will be segmented.

I typically use runes in spells, mostly galdr and bindrunes, rather than divination. Thanks for the link, Stabs, I'll have to copy those down.
