Colorful Means

I could see black being protective sense it absorbs the wavelengths of the color spectrum when light hits it. Black is also a chthonic color. Some chthonic deities are associated with protection from supernatural forces, such as Hekate.

Mmm. I normally used what I had, so white would be my all to candle color. Normally, I just go "what color is money?" or something. I also used a lot of red as a Christian Witch, red being the blood of Christ, which in it all things are possible.

Now I just like colors for aesthetics.

Colours to me represent an almost childlike connection between properties and result, for instance, green is money because money is green, etc. It is an almost instinctual connection, yellow is happy, like the sun, so I enjoy using colour magick because of its simplicity.

Personally I see black as a protective colour because it disguises you, in shadows you can feel protected against the rest of the world, although it is still commonly seen that black is a negative colour I find it very calming.

Quite commonly I combine colours in spells, especially if I am casting a spell with multiple faces, such as a healing spell for someone emotional state, I will use a green and a white candle, if it is a spell for confidence and study I will use an orange and a yellow. Sometimes I even mix candle wax to make two toned candles, this can be especially useful if I am out and about and can't carry a million and one candles around in my bag.

I'd never thought of colors that way. Black is a bit calming I use green to show my happy..I do like candle magic,but I'm not super savvy on what the colors mesn

Colors are great for non-candle related magic too! Building working altars with flowers, clothes, and other tools that fit a certain color and aesthetic is a great way to show the goal of the workspace. Then, there is also the colors associated with a deity for a shrine.

Another way to use colors is through satchels. Match the clothe to the intent of the charm. Then, there is also poppets (the sewable ones) which are just like satchels in that way.

I'd also consider color in art to be a good cross over between the two. However, I'm not artist and never took an art class so all I know about colors and the wheel is "what's warm". lol There's also ways to look at colors in psychology and advertising.

Personally I like to think of colours in a scientific sense they are all different wavelengths and therefore have different energies and this is how the magick works.
I don't see black as a protection colour, silver to me is more fitting. However I can see how people see it as a protection colour.
I've combined colours in my sigil work.

When it comes to colors they can mean many things to me.

• Gold, silver, and green represent money to me.
• Red and purple are religious colors for me.
• Blue and white I prefer for healing.
• White and black I like for protecting and cleansing.

Just as a few short examples. ^.^

Colours to me are very strange one might say because for me I have not done a lotof work with colours and it is strange because dark colours just shouldn't mean it's bad same with light colours for one black might mean love .

Personally, I feel like black is more like a mad colour staying in the shadows getting mad or doing something that is negative.

I have never worked with colours to do any ritual or any spells.But I would love to get into colour magick...a.k.a candle magick.
