well don't go into it in the hopes you'll clear your mind, but meditation would help. it's more about being present, relaxing, try to work though things, and connecting with your higher self than shut off all thoughts.
it won't be an instant thing, some days will be easier than others, but try for 30 seconds and work your way up. there are many ways to meditate beyond the cross legged monk vision most get. try sitting somewhere quiet and take ten slow deep breaths. done. when you feel like going longer, you could try sitting a little longer, but if you need something to focus theres many meditation music videos on youtube [type in 10 minutes because most that come up are hours long] you might also enjoy walking meditation, basically go on a walk alone with no music and just observe the world around you.
