Hey
Welcome,I was like you,I always felt a Magickal connection too
I bought my first witchcraft book
I was so depressed that is wasn't anything like the movies
It was Wiccan Magick,I threw it in the garbage
Then I book more books and realized they all had the same theory
I took a year off, finally I had a strong calling to see what Magick was about,I got mastering witchcraft and modern magick
Little by little gathering books and internet files
Four years passed,I decided it was time to start practicing
This is how I found my path,it kinda found me,I started relating to the Bible and folk Magick,I found Hoodooo and Italian Folk Magick
I also love Kaballah But it's strictly study and some practice added to my system like the lesser banishing and Bornless rituals
In time you will find a path, for now just learn the basics and read a lot..The dots start to connect after a while.

Winchester,

That's good advice. Thank you. I will continue reading everything and hopefully something pops out. Why did you throw away your first book? It might have been good to keep just as a reference.

Hi everyone,

When casting protection or healing spells on someone else do they have to believe in them to work, or just me because I'm one the casting them? Don't get me wrong, because I am no where near ready for casting anything, is question is just for future reference. Another question, when making a wand does it matter what type of tree, and do you have to use it with every spell you cast? I have been reading and some spells say to use a wand where others don't. Last question for now, do I have to pick a label of which path I am going to choose? Like I said, I'm mostly interesting in healing and protection, but I'm not quite sure about anything else. Thanks for listening.

If the other person youre casting for doesn't believe in it, then there isn't really much reason to cast for them..

As with the type of tree of wands, look into the lore of what each tree represents, and if it fits the purpose for your magick.

As with the tradition. You can choose to be eclectic or you can look into traditional witchcraft and see what suits you best.

Keep doing your research and things should fall into place for you.

Narrow it down a bit and just focus on what interests you. State a few things you're most interested in, and I'm sure a few of us can give you some good references.

I'm not really sure right now. I'm Italian so I'm starting with researching their history and seeing if anyone in my family was apart of anything magical. I am just taking it slow and researching everything before a make a decision and go on from there. I'm also looking into past life regressions because I've had personal experiences with my past life "coming back to haunt me" so to speak. When I was little I had many communications with spirits of my family members. I am considering studying in this field but I have a fear that I would let something dark and dangerous threw the veil by accident. I will not be doing anything like that until I have at least a few years experience first. Better safe then sorry.
