I know this is really late but here is a basic equation:
Energy input = energy output.
It is possible to cast spells without an incantation and without supplies but then you're relying only on your own core energies. This will drain you fast without making as much of an impact. If you learn to utilize meditation on what you want out of the spell beforehand, candles, diagrams, incantations, and other things then the more powerful your spell will be.

If you wish to increase the potency of your magic, then.I would suggest looking up and researching magical correspondences. For example, for spells that have to do with something creative or positive, cast them during the full moon. For spells that have to do with new beginnings, cleansing, and banishing, cast them under the new moon. Those are just two examples.
