Summoning higher beings
By:
I am new to Magick and I would like to know how to summon higher beings
gods, angels, demons, ascended masters or any other higher beings. I would appreciate learning to communicate with them. Thank you.

praying never goes unheard, but making them appear in any plane except the astral would be a very daunting task, to my knowledge

To summon anything, especially gods, is considered very rude because you would be taking them away from their task at hand. They would get pretty irate with you.

There are many other way to communicate with the Divine other than summoning them. Like it was stated above, prayers do not go unheard.

The Gods and Goddesses, no matter what pantheon, are always busy, tending to other people's lives and influencing them as well. Offerings, as well as prayers, are a form of communication to the Divine, and they are always heard.

In my opinion, summonings are downright offensive.

"I am new to Magick" and "summon higher beings" should never ever be in the same sentence or even the same post. Evocation is advanced magick and needs not only a great deal of research and study (most study a year or two at least) but also the ability to already communicate with spirits. Evocation will not allow you to see and hear them. This is a huge misconception. You need to be able to do that already or find another method of communication that you already work with. Before "summoning higher beings" how about just work on communicating and seeing the spirits around you (your guides, your ancestors, and spirits of the dead). They are far easier to work with and equally easier to ward away or banish if things get hairy.

There is a reason why Whiteraven has knowledgable next to her name.....

There is no fear about it at all, if a person doesn't know what they are doing they will either get no result at all, or make some pretty bad mistakes- for example not banishing before and after, or calling upon a deity in a respectful and appropriate way.

As one experienced in such things, I will agree with saying "summon what you want," but I might add "go ahead and attempt to summon what you want."

Advocating study, caution, and the like has nothing to do with lacking skill or knowledge or being fearful. It is more a matter of respect and understanding.

To be frank, most people who attempt to do such things accomplish absolutely nothing and simply let their imaginations go wild. Usually they go on about their power, and skill, and the various marvelous experiences they've had. That, or they are new and just running their mouths - much like this sapphire individual who says specifically how new she is within her profile.

Paths that deal a lot in the evocation of higher spirits generally require a great deal of study. The Golden Dawn, Voodoo and Hoodoo, advanced initiates of Wicca, etc. all work with such things, but initiates spend years studying, learning basic ritual and prayer, and so forth before ever attempting these things.

If you would like to begin such studies, I recommend beginning with learning the rudiments of one of these paths.
