Honestly, this topic has come up more than once. I'm getting deja Voo. ;)

Eventually, people learn to live the life, and entertainment's magic just seems ridiculous. There are many wonderful things, and even things that can even make you go "what just happened?", in magic. It doesn't need fireballs and lighting bolts to do this.

Those people are just Hippocrates, I personally believe in many things, just not anything that has to do with the word impossible

if all people were Hippocrates then I imagine we would be a lot healthier. though we would all also speak greek.

...Ahem...

all fun aside. it is not hypocritical to cast dispersion on some things here. im not an expert, and I believe in magic. I have seen manifestations that have blown me away...just in the last few months but...

you have to look at the "how" magic works. some stuff is unlikely but magic can push it in that direction. for me, and I think for others, it is a means of taking steps to have a greater control in ones life so only things that can happen can be affected.

I think someone mentioned love or attraction spells? no credible worker will say, "well this is easy work, no problem whatsoever..." all credible workers, who are not after an easy con (or heck a long con) will tell you that's work that may not work...

as for the other stuff like Adventure Time Ice God Spells, or being a werevampirecorn or I don't even understand half of the other stuff...well its like someone once said..."you can wish to be a Chevrolet all you want but it just isn't gonna happen"

Im sorry for your frustration with the forums here and especially the fake spells. but there is so much good starting information here and so many REALLY good people who are knowledgable and willing to share their knowledge as long as you act respectful and have a foundation that is based somewhere in reality.

if you see negativity, take it with a grain of salt. and don't take it personally. and don't judge. kick back for the ride and look at this site for what it is worth...a great starting point and a social media location for like minded individuals.

Good luck in all your endeavors!

Silver, let me correct one misconception. The Mods on this site do not have the ability to delete any spells that have been posted here. Only the Site Administrator can do that. And he has a very good reason for permitting these "fantasy" and "trick" spell suggestions to exist.

I'm so sorry to have to be one of the people to tell you this, but if you wish to advance on your spiritual journey, then you need to know that while belief is important, you cannot change the laws of the universe and the cosmic laws like ebb and flow, karma and fate, so if you sit for 3 months outside casting a spell for snow in the middle of summer, it isn't going to work. And it is true that one can change the way others see them, but they cannot change the way they look, because if you think scientifically, you can't rearrange your cells and balance out number density on each side of your body with magic. If you truly believe that magic is all belief and no logic, carry a 59 kilo suitcase to the airport and cast a spell for it to be light aas air and see if they'll let you on free of excess charges for the weight of your luggage. It won't work.

Sure we believe. But do so with reality in mind. No one is going to change into a werewolf because they don't exist. Believing one is going to is nonsense. Common sense really comes into play here. This is not the movies, nor tv. This is real life, and you have to accept that certain things don't happen. Also accept that certain things can happen with magick. Just think abut it. Believing is alive and well! BB

Oh we get it. What I'm not certain of is whether you get it.

People here are very harsh on people on this subject because they see it every single day. Eventually it grates on the nerves because they are repeating themselves like a broken record. It isn't that these people do not have belief in magick, it is merely that they are annoyed with the way fiction portrays their very serious practice.

I can understand both sides, the confused newcomers and the frustrated experienced ones. I used to be a frustrated experienced one too, and it did become overwhelming for me and I went off on the boards (like it seems everyone does--Art's turn this week :p).

But I stepped away from it for a short while (as the wise kts suggested) and in that time away I learned to laugh. When even the modern literature on magick is full of watered down to down right inaccurate information (like Silver Ravenwolf and Conway) and fiction is welcoming real myth and magick but contorting it in various ways for the sake of entertainment value, there is no wonder that there is so many out there that are confused.

When people here come off rudely they are met with hostility because that is the way human nature is, we meet hostility with hostility. No one wants to hug someone after they insult them. And it snowballs.

In conclusion, it's no ones fault and it's everyone's fault. Let's just get over it and talk magick. :D

If I don't want to explain something, I just keep my mouth shut. If I have the patience and time at the moment, then I will take the time to explain but I like to explain it in a positive way so that it is absorbed and defenses don't kick up. If the individual is too stubborn to listen, then I let it go. If they believe they know everything than they shouldn't be here asking questions. If they do not like the answers then it only a matter of time before they either learn them on their own or give up on magick.

Everyone can practice magick, like anyone can learn to do anything. But it takes a degree of ambition, humility, and patience that not many have. The experienced ones here become irritated when what they have practiced for 10, 20 or even 60 years is portrayed and seen as something that can be picked up with instant and miraculous success and is something akin to David Copperfield (stage magic) or fairy tales. Bibbity Bobbity Boo! You're pumpkin and mice are now a stagecoach and horses. Take that, fairy godmother. ;)

If everyone approached everyone with more respect, it wouldn't be a problem, but either the asker or the answerer get froggy, and then both sides blow up and nothing good comes from it.

If you agree, ribbit.:p

The way I see it, most spells only work if the energy inside us and the energy in the natural world is equal. There is also the law of equivalent exchange, remember that you can not gain something from nothing. I learned this from years of practicing magic, while mostly everyone on this site has little to no expirience with it. I am a master, and you, are an apprentice.
