Bamboo stem rose... knot.
By:
Hello... so I'll get to the point. There's something I can't stop thinking about since 1996... I was with this girl that was into magic and alchemy and when we broke up, a friend of mine gave me this bamboo stem rose with a lace/knot in the middle and shortly after I held it in my hand I smiled and snapped it in half.... My friend proceeded to tell me: "wait! you shouldn't have done that.." My friend never really told me why but it has never left my mind. Can any one shed some light on this please?

Perhaps the rose was a talisman or totem to help you get over your break up. On the other hand your friend could have been just making a kind gesture by giving it to you and was disappointed that you broke the gift they just gave you. Either way the only way to really know for sure is by asking the friend that gave it to you what they meant. Good luck.

A rose symbolizes romance, or maybe friendship. A knot symbolizes union. By snapping it in half it symbolizes that you were breaking a union with someone. But the whole thing is purely symbolic, unless the rose was blessed or cursed.
