I see pre-made charm bags at online Wicca supply sites. They don't say what is in it, other than general statements of containing the right items for the charm bag's purpose, such as:
"Our charm bags contain blends of gemstones, herbs, roots, and barks along with a small talisman spell. The contents of each bag are carefully selected with the particular intent of the bag in mind. The bags are charged, consecrated, and ready to use . . "
First, should we trust charm bags charged and consecrated by them?
Second, can I make my own?
I imagine that I could simply by gathering and using those stones, herbs, feathers, etc that are normally used for the same purpose I'm creating the charm bag for. I know I'd have to write my own spell also. Or is it more complicated than that?

Personally I choose to make most of what I use. I know what went in it, and I know what I intend for it to do that way.
There is no reason you can't use when of the already made ones, provided it is for the same thing you want to accomplish. My only issue with that is if there is a recipent with an allergy to certain things, in that case I would advise making your own.
Also you can open up the premade one to determine what is in it. After that you can consecrate it again, recharge it, and off you go.
There are a few posts on this site on how to make charm bags. In addition there are many articles on many sites about how to make charm bags.
