Well really this is perception. One may look at something as something, whereas it may be different to another. Canine traits, could mean anything canine-like, and that could simply be genetics or mentality. A good example would be some people's incisors may be sharper than other people's, and may be seen as more 'animalistic' when really that is simply how the teeth are. Really, it is how YOU see it, and how YOU act upon it, that can influence how others may acknowledge it. I recommend, if it reflects badly in the eyes of others, avoid bringing it up.
