Seasonal Witches

I've been practicing magick for about 4 years now, but there's always been a question I've never asked because I thought it would be silly.

Are there such things as seasonal witches?

I practice all year, but I never really feel the energy and excitement of the spiritual realm that really gets my blood pumping until this time through November. I practice at least once a month, but around this time of the year, that's when I start practicing daily. Would I be considered a seasonal witch?

This may sound silly, but it has got my curiosity, so any answer would be lovely.

The term is new to me but I could see where you could label yourself as such. Most everyone has a time of year they prefer and just enjoy more. Loving that particular time of year or season would give you more positive energy to work with and the fall time of year, such as around October, is popularized in relation to the supernatural so at that time it would of course be on forefront of one's mind. These factors combined could be why you have more energy and desire for spell casting during this time period.

Thank you for the reply. It really helped clear my curiosity. It's just I've heard the term used before, but seeing as you haven't heard of it before must just be something only a handful of people use. Thanks again. I appreciate it. :)

Ah, so glad somebody brought this up! While I strive for daily practice, at best, I can get in a good effort at least once a week. Between work and school and general stress, it's hard to keep invested in spiritual development. But I do notice that between late August and November - much like yourself - I feel propelled a lot more easily through my work and studies. I feel a lot more relaxed and in tune with nature, and while I find myself withdrawing from my normal social circles, I start to blossom with my craft work. I always thought it was weird because this time of year is a dying season, so energy like this would probably be more likely to pop up in growing seasons like spring and summer. But nope...I'm weird and Fall makes me all kinds of excited and amped up for development. But once December rolls around, things kind of fizzle down. By spring time, I'm back to the drawing board of weekly work.

That's exactly how I am, Pat! Fizzling down once Spring comes back around. I a;ways thought it was just me, so I'm glad someone knows how I'm feeling! :)

Blessed be sisters and brothers, I had to reply to your posts and how strange I would join this site on Mabon. The reason why you feel the pull of magic at certain times of the year is simple. At certain times of the year the Craft calls you and draws you. Everything waxes and wanes including and including magic. We feel the pull at certain times of the year because we are getting boosted as it were, to keep us through the rest of the year. You may feel like the rest of the year you don't do as half as much within the Craft. However no matter what you do in your waning period magic is always with ypu, beside you and a part of you. Think about those times during which you feel you have a lull in your Craft work, how many strange things happen, you need something and it eventually finds its way to you, the phones rings and you know who it is... Just because you don't light a candle every day or say a blessing does not mean your a seasonal witch. We just wax and wane. Once a witch always a witch not matter how little or how much we practice. Blessed be. And bright Mabon blessings to you all xx
