Collective Consciousness
By:
I was just reading about Jung's theory of collective consciousness, and now our ecological collective consciousness (with the earth, nature, etc.) is really the essence of Druidry. Druidry, to me, is exactly this: the collective consciousness of humans, that is, culture and social structures, and the collective consciousness of nature, that is, the conscioousness between earth and mind.

Personally I think collective conscious is a shaky idea due to the easily seen difference in ever being. You will not normally see a occultic practionar and a devout catholic having a calm collected conversation over most topics. The same can be said for cultures you will not normally see a middle eastern man be accepted easily into American society. It's world wide with every culture and religion and so on in the list of difference. The way I look at collective conscious is our ability to predict what our friends will do. Many people can predict what their friends or family are going to do before they do it. We know it because we know them. If you ever really want to consider what collective conscious is ask an empath. I personally am one and am speaking from experience here, but I'm a fan of more than one fact ask around. I will say this in case someone decides to raise trouble I am not bias to any groups mentioned they were first to mind but not the only sorry for your disagreeance. You may here Druid mention or empath mention feeling the people around and what their thinking as an empath we sharpen that skill even though we're normally blessed with it already extremely strong. Really what your doing is sensing living aura/chakra/or presence as in heat and then reading it's wavelength and it registers as an emotion. You can hone that skill yourself and apply it to a practical use but will be hard work. This is both my two cents and my knowledge to help out. Goodluck with your community question! Have a blessed day!

Well in my research and studies I have found that the Druids of Ancient Ireland and Scotland did in fact have a collective consciousness, that is, ecologically and socially. Nowadays, since we don't know an awful lot about Driudry it is hard to say that we all believe the same thing, but believing in the same things is not collective consciousness. Collective consciousness is sharing the same values and understandings about culture and society; this idea about ecological collective consciousness refers to the understandings between man and nature, the similarities between man and nature. Yes, collective consciousness can be a way to predict what people will do, but if you read what Durkheim really said about collective consciousness, you'll understand this: God, or Goddess, or spirit, is really our collective consciousness. What we have in common with society, is God. What we have in common with nature is God. God, as Durkheim was saying, is the sum of the people, all at once.

I would have to disagree with your perception of many Occult practitioners and the like, Renegade.

While what you describe certainly depicts the conflict that we encounter over spiritual matters, you do not describe a spiritual conflict. You are describing the disagreement that arises between two different view points fundamentally rooted in the reasoning of man, and the dogma through which spirituality is approached.

In exploration of the higher planes, and higher spiritual beings (for lack of better terminology), you cannot help but encounter a sense of Oneness.

All that is in creation is contingent upon all other aspects of creation. It is a chain of events that has resulted in the world we live in, the environment that provides the smaller space in which we dwell, and the events that have shaped us. This cause and effect creates a direct link between everything.

This, on a physical level, can easily be seen in examination of an ecosystem, as all that dwell within it are impacted and dependent upon the actions of all other life that dwells within it.

Thus the concept of ecological collective consciousness, and how it can be expanded into a collective consciousness concept that encompasses all spirituality.

I find your ideas of worldwide culture to be an unfortunately common one, Renegade. It is in my opinion, much more common for cultural and religious acceptance to take place than many seem to be aware of. It is the attention given to those who practice incoherence and often lack of acceptance that overwhelms the voices of those who don't, also known as those who are more so accepting. Priorities play a big role in such things, rather than saving the world from opposition and putting down the misconstrued I could consider encouraging people who tolerate and grasp other ideas and cultures.

I think being connected to the earth is a solidarity kind of experience it's something that a person seeks for, and will go to any length to acquire. That's what makes it special, i think if they're is a collective belief that this is something good it enhances the understanding of like minded individuals.

While many believe in the idea of collective consciousness, it also ties in with the idea that we are all one and even with the idea of "We are all but dreams in someone's mind." So even if the collective Consciousness does exist, then we would most likely be part of it now, but completely unaware of it, therefore, it is unaware of itself. In order for the collective Consciousness to be aware is if everything capable of any thought were so aware that they would transcend themselves, thereby making the collective Consciousness aware of itself. It's somewhat like being on the same frequency. Once that happens, we become one, literally one entity. However, because people have the freedom of choice, not everyone chooses to believe and join the "Collective", and therefore, the collective consciousness is not aware of if itself. It might as well be named the collective "unconsciousness." It's just one of those paradoxical ideas.

Although quantum sciences have revealed "hints" of collective consciousness, but not accepted by the highly overrated "western" mainstream science.

Lol. Collective unconciousness. Good one. I am pretty sure it is more about feeling than technical. Just my opinion. I love the god and godess and trust them with my will. I have a decision to make and i am outside. I look at a tree that is rooted in the same earth as billions of other trees. The wind rustles its leaves and blows through it just like the others they are connected. My mind and heart are open and i share information with this tree. I go on to do the will of my god and goddess in peace. Collective conciousness.
