I would need to know more. What are you trying to convince them to do?

Although, there are varying degrees, whenever you push a thought, emotion, or action upon someone, it is controlling. Even binding is controlling, in fact it is my belief that binding is the worst of all controlling spells because it is the magick equivalent of shackles/imprisonment. Yet it's seen as "light"...funny stuff. Anyway, you cannot do magick on someone for good or ill intentions without somehow controling them. Most people do not actually use their willpower, therefore, when you impress your will on them, their minds easily accept it. Most people are controlled by their subconscious 95% of waking life. This is why when we do something out of our usual routines, we get tired quickly. Our conscious mind has to actually work, oh my! And it wears us out if we aren't used to constant change and using our conscious mind more regularly. But this fact works to magick practioners advantage. People with strong wills are those with more conscience awareness and action. A short amount of time observing someone will tell you how conscious they truly are of their surroundings and actions, therefore how willful they are. Less will is more suseptable to the influencement of magick.
