The fae aren't all cute and kind like Tinkerbell. The small ones that fly aren't the only kind there is. And they usually don't show themselves. Milk and honey (in separate dishes) or small sweet cakes like brownies are good offerings. When they do appear, it is usually a bright ball of light that darts around in forest areas a good distance away from you. You'll be more likely to know they are there due to the mischief they do than seeing them personally. Believe it or not, most people mistake nature spirits for "demons" when they bother them.

faeires like sweet things. as Raven said, faeries aren't like they've been portrait, they're mischievous and can be spiteful, but they're not so bad if you're nice to them. look into flowers and trees that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, they will also attract faeries. sunflower, honeysuckle, lilac,, daisies, cosmos, rosemary, thyme, purple coneflower, french lavender, snapdragons, foxglove and tulips are a few that are good to use. also fruit trees like apples and cherries. sugar would be nice, but milk and honey like raven said would be better.

when you finally see faeries, they're more like balls of light than actual people. whenever i've seen them, they're this pretty shade of purple orb out of the corner of my eye. drives me nuts actually because it's right in the corner, so i'm constantly looking over at them, but i can't see them straight on. whenever i've seen them is in the evening, or late at night outside.

here's two sites that you might find useful
