Lesson One:

Alright, so I am sure some of you have used Tarot cards before. And I am sure some of you are quite proficient in the art of reading them. But, for those of you who are new, I shall start at the beginning.

So, generally in a tarot deck there are 78 cards, and are divided into two houses. In the Major Arcana, there are 22 cards. In the Minor Arcana, there are 56.Now, here is some more info about both.

MAJOR ARCANA:

0,0) The Fool
I,1) The Magician
II,2) The High Priestess
III,3) The Empress
IV,4) The Emperor
V,5) The Hierophant
VI,6) The Lovers
VII,7) The Chariot
VIII,8) Justice
IX,9) The Hermit
X,10) The Wheel of Fortune
XI,11) Strength
XII,12) The Hanging Man
XIII,13) Death
XIV,14) Temperance
XV,15) The Devil
XVI,16) The Tower
XVII,17) The Star
XVIII,18) The Moon
XIX,19) The Sun
XX,20) Judgement
XXI,21) The World

Now, some people prefer to use only the Major Arcana, but I feel that using all the cards gives a more in-depth look into life.

In the Minor Arcana, there are four suits. Wands(Fire), Cups(Water), Swords(Air), and Pentacles(Earth). In each suit, there is an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Page, Knight, Queen, and King card.

Each card in your deck has its own meaning, which I shall cover in the next lesson.

k. this sounds like a good series, kinda wish you went into more detail about the cards instead of listing them, but i'm guessing you'll be doing that in the future. i have a question, i posted the topic, but no one's answered so i'll ask you. how do you feel about doing readings for people online whom you haven't met or have the slightest clue about. i've been told it won't work. your thoughts?

Lesson 2:

Today I will discuss with you the meanings of the first 5 cards in the Major Arcana house, along with their Reversals. A Reversal is when the card appears to you well, in a reversed position. Generally, I do not do Reversals, as I feel the cards in their natural positions speak for themselves. The word "Querent" may appear several times in the descriptions. It basically means the person you are reading for.

0,0) THE FOOL- Folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment. An unexpected opportunity,a major choice. REVERSED- Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, apathy, nullity, vanity.

I,1) THE MAGICIAN- (CAN BE AN INDICATOR CARD FOR THE QUERENT, IF THE QUERENT IS A MALE) Skill, diplomacy, address, subtlety; sickness, pain, loss, disaster, snares of enemies; self-confidence, will. The ability to succeed, mastery. REVERSED- Mental disease, disquiet.

II,2) THE HIGH PRIESTESS- 9CAN BE AN INDICATOR CARD FOR THE QUERENT, IF THE QUERENT IS A FEMALE) Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; the woman who interests the Querent; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science. Intuition, secrets to be revealed, unexplored potential. REVERSED- Passion, moral/ physical ardour, conceit, surface knowledge.

III,3) THE EMPRESS- Fruitfulness, action, initiative, length of days, length of days; the unknown, clandestine; also difficulty, doubt, ignorance.Nurturing to the full potential, marriage, motherhood. REVERSED- Loght, truth, the unravelling of involved matters, public rejoicings; vacillation.

IV,4) THE EMPEROR- Stability, power, protection, realization; a great person, aid, reason, conviction; also authority and will. REVERSED- Benevolence, compassion, and credit. Also obstruction and immaturity.

In our next lesson, I will discuss the next 5 cards in the Major Arcana.
