Wow, this topic and its debate was really insightful to me, I was mulling over the same question, but was following what i felt in my heart to peruse. So now that others wonder as I do, it makes it a lot more easier to continue in what I enjoy.

you cannot mold witch craft into christanity period like i just stated it states in there bible ''not let a witch to live'' who do you think was killing off the witches back in the day during the inquisition i dont need to ask a christian anything why because they have no idea how blasphemy it is to try and be a witch at the same time ive read most of the bible and it is a mockery to god jesus commits all the seven deadly sins in the bible the bible supports human sacrifices and tells you to kill someone ven children if you belieave in other gods you cannot nit pick what you think is good in the bible and disregard all the atrocities thats just plain wrong there are just confused and dont even know what there doing..

"who do you think was killing off the witches back in the day during the inquisition"

No one. The Medieval Inquisition attacked non-Orthodox Christianity, the Spanish Inquisition was about getting rid of Jewish and Muslim influence in a previously multi-faith state, and the Portuguese Inquisition is much of the same and was partially caused by an influx of Spanish Jews fleeing Spain. Only the Roman Inquisition was particularly directed at "witches," but even then it wasn't some great witch-hunt; this was also and more importantly an Inquisition against Protestantism, Judaism, and blasphemy, and it served as an excellent tool for censoring the written works of the time.

It is also worth noting that when "witches" were prosecuted it was never because they were magick workers, but because they were specifically devil-worshipers casting curses on everyone. Though many Neopagans use the term "witch," it really has nothing to do with historical usage of the word.

"you cannot nit pick what you think is good in the bible and disregard all the atrocities thats just plain wrong there are just confused and dont even know what there doing"

How have you concluded any of that? I most certainly can choose which parts I wish to believe. The books of the Bible, however perfectly Holy and accurate they may have been when God first delivered them, have been in the care of humans so long they have changed. They were passed by word of mouth for centuries, and have undergone several translations and cultural modification over the last few thousand years. There is no reason why a person would not be able to believe that parts of the Bible are legitimate and true to their origin while others have been corrupted and made useless.

I think it is between you and your God. There are passages that do not permit the act of witchcraft and sorcery.I don't know that much about the Bible to know if the laws were 'man made'.There have also been mediums and fortune tellers in the Bible. Most of which are said to possess an evil spirit or familiar.

Anyways, the Bible does not say anything about magic not being real. So it is really between you and your God. Talk with him.

Personally, if you are drawn to magic, you may be drawn to it for a reason. It may be God's plan for you. Just never know. =)

Oh the witch I know the most in the Bible is the witch of Endor (Samuel 1 28:3-25). And the laws I read that do not allow witchcraft, sorcery, and divination is Leviticus 19:31 & 20:27.

Leviticus is also the book that tells you not to cut your hair or wear clothing made of more than one fabric. It's not like the rest of Leviticus is practiced or followed by the average Christian, so why pick a tiny handful of Leviticus like bans on magick or homosexuality and make a big deal out of just those?

I believe that a Christian can be anything that he or she wants to be, even if that includes being a witch. It's my belief that the original Bible never said anything about killing witches. That it was King James, who was terribly afraid of witches, that incorporated that into the Bible. The original passage was supposedly that "thou shall not suffer a poisoner to live". And as everyone should know witches and poisoners are two very different things.

I myself am a Christian practicing witchcraft, but I do believe that you will still go to Heaven even if you do said witchcraft. The saying 'God doesn't like ugly' comes into focus here. Don't practice witchcraft to do evil, and I believe you'll be in the clear. It's just some Christians have different views on witchcraft and believe that it is evil, thus that makes some of the Christian-Wiccans 'turn away' from Wicca. In truth, there are two groups of the Christians. One that thinks that Christianity is the only way. And one that is willing to accept all religions. This is only what I believe, just an opinion.

And not many Christians practice the rules the Pentecostals practice yet they still do. Plus that was more for someone who mentioned that there are no laws against witchcraft in the Bible. The bigger idea for my post was to help Amane, not to get involved with whatever quarrel is on this thread.
