i would strongly reccommend ( as in my earlier post ) him to seek a councellor who can help him with his own feelings and how to talk to his parents about his sexuality. some people who are gay sadly never come out for fear of what their family or peers will think or say, i wish both you and him well , many blessing macus

It's already been said about a dozen times in this thread, but I thought I should elaborate on why he can't be cured. Magick can't be used to do absolutely anything; it can only do those things already possible within the nature of those things involved. This is why magick can cure disease but not make you fly - diseases are things we can cure or naturally recover from, but there is nothing in human nature about flying.

There are multiple organizations which claim to cure homosexuality, but there is nothing credible about their techniques and there have been several "cured" people who later came forward and said they were still gay and that those groups merely brainwashed them or guilted them into hiding it better; they were in fact still gay.

Moreover, Dr. Amar J S Klar discovered something odd in 2003-2004... That swirly patch of hair on the top/back of your head goes clockwise on most people. Only 8.4% of straight people have a counterclockwise swirl, but that percentage jumps to 29.8% in gay men, suggesting that there really might be a genetic influence in homosexuality. There have also been studies showing certain patterns of finger length in gay and straight men and women, suggesting that homosexuality is influenced by how much prenatal androgen one is exposed to in the womb.

What he is therefore likely asking for is different genetics and to undo part of the way he developed as a fetus, and by the Gods that is way outside of the scope of both magick and science.

Jackal has a point. Apparently there has been research into the exact subconcious biological drives that determine an individuals choice in an indeal mate. A few things have been brought up to suggest that not only does the individual look for emotional and psychological security, which is generally learnt, there are subtlties in genetics that are automatically (subconciously) selected.

In terms of homosexuality, this certainly makes everything about it more preferable. Complex and intricate base level needs? (sorry about the choices of terminology, I am quite tired).

I just read over that and it sounds way too clinical. I only really meant to add to the discussion regarding homosexuality as a natural and particuarly beautiful state of affairs.

Actually, homosexuality is, by term, a genetic disorder. Its simply a flaw in the thought process when selecting a mate. When this friend dies, the homosexuality will probably disappear, because the flaw is gone. As for when he's alive, try to explain to him how this problem works, and try excercises that get him to go against it (for example, I put the spiritual before the physical in my life). But overall, just introduce him to some nice girls, and help him remember he isnt gay on the inside, only on the outside (no offense to the gays, but its pretty much a disease that affects your mind). He can defeat it if he keeps trying. This is a trial in life, and he CAN pass it.

You know Magickor5, there are documented cases of gay-pair and lesbian-pair birds coming together, mating heterosexually, and then going back to their same-sex pairings with each taking an egg so they can raise young.

If it's a matter of confusion over mate selection, I'd love to hear how you explain that.

Animals have different thought patterns, and from what I know many species dont have permanent mates. Besides, there ARE bisexual humans. Same concept, slight difference.

My point is that they clearly know that for mating purposes they need the opposite gender... and yet they live as mated pairs do with their own gender.

Again, look at DNA. It could be they know they need a female by instinct, but then that flaw can cause the abnormal behavior or habit.

This thread is going to be locked. It's just venturing further and further away from a magickal topic.
