Belief is the most important thing believe in what you can do and it will be done.

I disagree about belief being the most important thing. It's true enough that magick doesn't work particularly well (or often enough, not at all) if you lack confidence in what you are doing, but all the belief in the world will not make the impossible happen.

What you need is very specifically confidence in accurate teachings. After all, if all you needed was belief we'd have a lot of self-made mermaids right now (not to mention a slew of Jesus Christs on PCPs).

WiteEclipse, I would suggest beginning a regimen of meditation and visualization practices as well as getting a good beginner's book. The meditation and visualization will help you develop the particular mental skills (namely focus) that you'll use most directly and constantly in magick.

Though it sounds terrifyingly fluffy, the Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart actually does a really good job. It's decidedly and unannouncedly biased toward Kitchen Witchery and Wiccan-styled Neopaganism, but is otherwise a pretty accurate book which helpfully explains why things work.

If i might, there is a book i absolutely recommend to you and all beginners.

The magician's workbook by Donald Tyson

The title sounds a bit fluffy, but it's a great introduction into ceremonial magic complete with a 40 week regimen. It goes over visualization exercises in depth, and includes many, many other practical exercises.
