Juice fasts have been used throughout history as a way of detoxifying the body and enhancing clarity of the mind. It is relatively safe to do if you follow a few simple guidelines.
Make sure that you change around the types of juice, tea and broth you use, so that you get a variety of nutrients. Drink at least eight ounces every two hours, and drink plenty of water in the mean time. Do not use this for more then one month because it can cause an overgrowth of bacteria in your intestines from not having a bm.
Because the juice (tea, broth etc) is assimilated into your system within 10-20 minutes, the body does not have to work as hard to digest. This gives it more time and energy to work on cleaning itself out and rebuilding cells. When using fresh organic juices your helping your body to rid itself of even more toxins from your diet.
This will obviously make you hungry at first. If it bothers you, you can supplement with jello or just fill up on water. The whole idea is that your lessening the amount of work and time spent on digestion so that your body can function on other things. It is well known for bringing about a heightened awareness and better brain function, increased metabolism, and detoxification.
At first you may not notice any differences. Within a few days your energy should increase some, your perspiration will become a bit foul (take extra baths please lol) you should start thinking more clearly, and the hunger will lessen. This is also helpful for people that have a hard time feeling satisfied from a normal amount of food, because it causes your stomach to shrink if given enough time.
