i've never heard of that reaction outside of movies. my friend use to have a demon follow him, but nothing like that ever happened, mostly it helped him in his spell casting. i'm going with whiteraven here, you're trying to screw with us or your friend is sick.

I don't mean to be rude, but your friend may have a mental illness. What you've described sounds a lot like schizophrenia, right down to the catatonic state and paranoia. If your friend isn't already taking medication for schizophrenia (perhaps she's skipping her pills?) then you may want to discuss with one of her family members about her behavior so that she can get help. Schizophrenia has many forms. It can be temporary due to a trauma, it can be a problem with the brain itself, and it could be chronic and entirely psychological (usually born in this case and it gets progresssively worse without help).

Don't panick and do not encourage this behavior or way of thinking. Assure her that everything is ok. If she is becoming aggitated and cannot let it go, "pretend" to "cure" it with an amulet or chant if you must. Then work from there, while she is calm, and work in the conversation that she needs to talk to a professional. What you should be encouraging is for your friend to find joy in her life again by getting treatment for her problem. Untreated schizophrenics usually have miserable lives, and its obvious that you care for her.

I had a roommate who was schizophrenic, so I know personally what it is like to have a friend who is effected by the problem.

Demons *are* real and they are *evil*. Well I suppose that some could be good, although I have never heard of one. Possession has happened before and very well can happen again. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If demons or evil spirits weren't real then they wouldn't exist in so many different cultures and religions. Demons are NOT only a Christian concept! There are possessions in other religions and cultures and there are other methods to confront and battle such things! But this honestly doesn't sound like a possession, at least to me. Perhaps you should call the doctor before you do anything drastic. If the doctor can find nothing wrong then I would suggest looking up exorcisms on the internet. Sage can be used for exorcisms as can many other herbs. Good luck!

Not all demons are out to get you, have a desire to possess your body and cause chaos in your life, steal your soul, etc. I think Hollywood blew the possession/exorcism aspect way out of proportion. I completely agree with White on this. It sounds like medical problem, if not some sort of prank.

Regardless of whether or not demons are evil, you should listen to WhiteRav3n. It sounds like your friend might be suffering from some form of mental illness. If she was possessed, I doubt she would be telling you so nonchalantly. While trying to get her psychological/medical help, you could perform a banishment or exorcism. Then your covering all sides. Even if it is just that she believes she is possessed, it could help (placebo effect). Regardless, get her some medical attention.

Don't make them drink salt water, that will just make them sick. And like many people before me have said, how do you actually know it is demonic possession?

As a person who struggles with mental illness, I can honestly say there have been times that I have been so removed from reality that I have acted as though I were "possessed" and had no control over it.

I believe you should call an ambulance to transport your friend to the hospital where they can be screened for any mental illness or other medical issues.

It really irks me when people believe that every little thing is due to some huge dramatic magickal phenomenon. This isn't hollywood. Check for more plausible answers before jumping to extremes.

Wolfie

And skeptics sincerely irk me... There are more things on this Earth than we could ever comprehend. I like to try to keep an open mind, well at least about the things that interest me. :p
